Artistic Composition

Need a new work for your professional recital, concert, theatre work or project? Want your school or university ensemble to play something fresh and original? Whether writing for professional musicians or educational ensembles, my expertise ranges from concertos to site-specific pieces to musicals to ambient, electronic soundscapes - all styles and difficulty levels. Commission rates are negotiable depending on the length of the work (in minutes), and how many instruments/channels you require.

Arrangement, Transcription, Orchestration, Copyist

Want a YouTube link or recording put into sheet music for your band? Need a creative and original arrangement of a song you love? Have an existing arrangement that needs to be re-orchestrated for your specific ensemble? Need someone to proofread and tidy your score? I’ve got you covered - whether it’s a big band, choir, orchestra, mixed instrumentations - whatever you need! Enquire within for a quote.

Educator

I am available for individual private lessons at $80/hour. My lessons can comprise of any combination of composition, saxophone, flute, clarinet and jazz/contemporary piano, as well as aural, theory, musicianship and music appreciation. As a teacher, I’m ideal for:

- someone who wants to get better at composing, arranging, orchestrating or songwriting in any genre (jazz, classical, contemporary, electronic, experimental, etc)

- someone who wants to improvise

- someone who wants a focus on aural training and development of their musical ear

- someone who wants to increase their practical understanding of music theory

- someone who is aiming for a place in an auditioned band, (e.g. WAYJO) or a composition, jazz or contemporary tertiary music course

- someone who is looking to develop strategies to improve music reading skills

- someone who is interested in critically listening to a wide variety of musical genre constructs in order to develop music appreciation and analysis skills

- a beginner musician wanting a combination of composing, aural, piano and percussion training
