When there are two notes on an instrumental part, one player plays the top note and the other plays the bottom note.

The ‘rhythm section’ (drums, bass, piano) are encouraged to embellish their parts and grooves once comfortable with the structure. The drummer can perform a one bar fill the bar before a new rehearsal mark if they feel so inclined.
